Color Hydrant

Hydrant-Color

f3.6, 1/180 sec, 288mm equiv focal length

All the hydrants in this neighborhood are painted multi-color schemes, different color combinations. But most of them didn't have background opportunities like this one. I tried many different points of view, and got the best at maximum zoom from almost across the street, stooped at a very low angle.

The colour is very good in this one. What I would perhaps do is try to somehow get rid of the double yellow line on the bottom left, but this is up to you (keeping the natural shot or editing beyond basic filters).

I guess that's the balancing act in this age of digital editing -- how much to change, how much to leave alone, and still keep the integrity of the photograph. But I think it's worth a try. I'm using Photoshop Elements 3, and I'm still new to it, but it seems I could use the color replacement brush and use a sample of the sidewalk cement for the replacement color. Or can you suggest another way?

I re-posted a new edit of the image -- you may need to reload your page. I did color-replace the yellow that was in the lower left corner. Thanks for the idea.
