Tryon Tree Picnic

I helped with an invasive plant clean-up, Saturday morning at Tryon Creek State Park. Between the parking lots was a picnic area. This tree had fallen right down the middle of the a picnic table, and clipped the corner of another. I don't know how long it has been there, but I'd guess not long.

We had a very wet January around here, along with some strong winds. When the ground gets soaked, the root balls of some trees become loose enough that a strong wind will push it over.
