Overwhelmed
This was our street, three days ago, at the peak of the PDX Snowpoalypse. We are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Portland _will_ be snow-free one day.

Academy Theater, SE Portland, OR
A film-based image, taken with my SLR Canon AE-1.
f/3.5 | 1/30 sec | ASA 200 | 28mm
I haven't been shooting much lately. But last night I finished a roll of film when I decided to jump out of my car and have a go at this neon. When I got the negatives back, I saw that I started the roll back in July. This roll was a test for a couple of new-old lenses I bought back then -- most of the roll with a Canon FD 28mm f/3.5 lens, a few shots with a Canon 135mm.
See it bigger...

This is the cover art we put together for the CD. I was pretty pleased to see it come together.
Another shot...

From the archives. View Large On Black.
I've been sitting on this one for a while. It's an alternate take, a different framing of this shot. The sidewalk trees out front of this place are wrapped in small white lights, and I like the way they go together with the sign.

Memorial Day weekend visit to Seattle. This was from a roll of slide film -- I think the first I've ever shot. I over-exposed almost the whole roll, from slightly to severely. I'm not sure how that happened.
I took the last two shots on the roll this night in Seattle. The Needle here is over exposed too, but it actually worked in the context of the whole scene. I think it was about a 10- or 12-second exposure.
Just after finishing this shot, I met these folks.

I like the concept behind the Lomo SuperSampler. But I'm cheap. So rather than buy one, I came up with this scheme to get a similar effect using multi-shot mode on our digital point-n-shoot.

I work a few miles from Multnomah Falls, but expected that I would not get a chance to go during daylight hours to see them frozen. I was so happy when the manager announced an impromptu field trip on an afternoon the office was slow.
On the first pic above, to get a wide-angle effect (without a wide-angle lens), I stitched together a few shots into this vertical scene.

We went to see the Blue Man Group at the Rose Garden for my son's birthday. It was a super-fun show. We were in really back-row seats, but it wasn't a problem -- except that, even with camera zoom, it didn't give me any real close-up shots of the stage. So I went for the crowd/atmosphere shots instead.
